Lodi’s Christmas Tree Pickup Altered for COVID-19

Over the years, the local Boy Scout troops have been responsible for Lodi’s Christmas tree removals on the first Sunday of the new year. However, due to an increase in COVID-19 cases, along with California’s “stay-at-home” orders, the Boy Scouts will not pick up Christmas trees for 2021.

The City of Lodi asked residents to not place their Christmas trees in the gutter or with leaf piles, as they will not be picked up during the city’s leaf removal program. Instead, the City of Lodi is working with Waste Management to offer a Christmas tree disposal service.

In a press release posted on December 21, 2020, the City of Lodi informed residents to take their Christmas trees to the Grape Bowl north parking lot located on Stockton Street, south of Lawrence Elementary School. The Christmas tree drop off service will last from January 2nd to January 9th between the hours of 7:00am and 5:30pm. Access to the drop off area will only be available during these times. The City asks to please only drop off live Christmas Trees.
